Oral Surgery

At SoCal Dental Care we provide highly professional and safe treatment options for the management of oral health issues. While delivering concise and timely treatments, doctors and staff members also aim to educate patients to improve general awareness and health concepts in the general public.

Services Offered:

We offer a variety of procedures for aesthetic and/or functional remodeling of the jaw, face, and oral cavity regions. Such as:

Complex congenital craniofacial deformities and syndromes:

  • Repair of Cleft lip and cleft palate
  • Disproportionately sized or misaligned jaws

Bone grafting:

A highly innovative procedure that allows oral surgeons to replace/repair small pieces of the jaw bone (that is lost or reabsorbed/ damaged as a result of previous injuries/extractions or diseases). There are several practical applications of bone grafting; such as:

  • Dental implants
  • Sinus repairs
  • Fistula repair
  • Ridge augmentation processes
  • Bony defects

Naturally occurring as a muscle attachment, the frenum connects underside of the upper lip to the front of the gums and it may affect the normal alignment of the teeth. Sometimes, the attachment may be so long that it may interfere with the proper interface of the front teeth. Surgical removal or manipulation of the frenum to correct this cosmetic issue is referred to as a Frenectomy.

Oral-facial tumors or other oral pathologies:

Pathological growth in the oral cavity may be benign or malignant. In either case, it is highly recommended to seek early intervention or treatment to prevent permanent complications. Some signs that are suggestive of oral pathological lesion are:

  • Recent changes in the voice (hoarseness or recurrent sore-throat)
  • Recurring episodes of oral sores associated with bleeding and discomfort
  • A recent lump or outgrowth that is thick and tends to bled easily
  • Changes in the lining membranes of the oral cavity

Wisdom teeth extractions

Impacted wisdom teeth are common issues faced by most adults in which the 3rd molars remain stuck in the jaw bone and become a frequent cause of infection, pain, facial swelling, and oral discomfort. The procedure involves exposing the impacted tooth by lifting the gum tissue. Depending upon the situation and severity of impaction; several surgical options can be taken.

Besides the 3rd molar; virtually any tooth can present with impaction.

Dental implants:

Dental Implants serves to replace damaged, lost, or chipped teeth. An implant is basically a titanium post that is surgically introduced in the jaw bone to fill the socket and serves as a strong and functional foundation for the artificial tooth.

Other reasons why you should see our oral surgeon are:

  • Snoring and sleep apnea
  • Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ)
  • Traumatic injuries and soft tissue damage involving the oral cavity or face
  • Fractures or dislocation of facial bones ( jaws, eye sockets, nose, cheekbones)
